Freddy Franklin Shockley, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at home on Tuesday, June 13, 2017.

          Frank was born on June 1, 1931, one of 6 children of the late Elijah and Mary Elizabeth (Jones) Shockley.

          Frank Worked for the DuPont Company in Seaford for 35 years, retiring in 1985.  He was an active member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.  He was gentle, selfless, caring and devoted.  He genuinely enjoyed doing for others, often helping in times of need, great or small, never looking for anything in return.  He loved to spend time riding his horse, “Sue”, square dancing with Emma Jean, playing golf and listening to country music, often playing his guitar with friends.

          In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Mark Shockley and daughter-in-law, Kim Shockley, two brothers, William Shockley and Thomas Shockley and sister, Helen Jenkins.                            He is survived by his wife, Emma Jean (Mumford) Shockley, sons, Michael Shockley (Nancy), Brent Shockley, daughter, Brenda Cantrell, grandchildren, Karis Shockley, Zachary Shockley, Michael Shockley, Ryan Shockley, Kyle Shockley, Crystal Cantrell and Eli Cantrell, brother, Henry Shockley and sister, Norma Lee Temple (Allan), brother-in-law, Preston Mumford and sister-in-law, Beatrice Shockley, several nieces and nephews.

          Memorial Services will be on Friday, June 16th at 7 PM at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 28315 Seaford Rd, Laurel, DE, where friends may call from 6 to 7.
