ALLEN V BECK

October 19, 1936 ~ October 30, 2017 (age 81) 81 Years Old

 

 

Allen V. Beck, 81, passed away of natural causes at home on October 30, 2017, in Bridgeville, Delaware.  Allen was born in Baltimore, Maryland to Clarence A. and Mary E. (nee Warfield) on October 19. He married Shirley McNeal on January 1, 1958 in Great Mills, Maryland. He graduated from Baltimore Polytechnic High School.  He retired as a lithographer for H.S. Crocker Co., Inc. and successors for 42 years.  He was a veteran and served in the U.S. Navy.  He enjoyed bowling, softball and was an avid sports fan of the Baltimore Colts, Baltimore Orioles, Maryland Terrapins, and Baltimore Ravens.

 

Mr. Beck is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers (Charles, George, Marion, Paul), a son (Allen, Jr.), nephew (Christopher), son-in-law (Joseph) as well as many brothers-in-law  and sisters-in-law.   

 

He is survived by his wife Shirley, children Deborah Smith (Charles), Mary Petty (Ralph), Betty Parker, James Beck (Renee), Timothy Beck (Mary), adopted  grandchildren Joseph, John, Jessica, Kenneth, grandchildren, Stephen Smith, Dana Walker, Christy Smith, Valerie Smith-Frey, Amanda Dudley, Timothy Dudley, Jamison Beck,  Colin Beck, Lena Beck, great-grandchildren,  Austen Kelley, Mackenzie Smith  Jordyn Sliger, Haiden Shelton,  DeMarco Walker, Donte Goodman, Jr., Adriana Strand,, Donnell Strand, Jr., Caleb Dudley, Gabrielle Miller, Savanah Miller, Nevaeh Miller, Briana Beck, Joseph Beck, Jr., Nathan Beck, brothers-in-law, James McNeal, J. Carl McNeal (Sandra), Michael McNeal (Debbie), Raymond McNeal, and many nieces and nephews.

 

A memorial gathering will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Cranston Funeral Home, Seaford, Delaware.  No interment will follow the service. Arrangements are by Cranston Funeral Home.

 

The family of Mr. Beck wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Compassionate Care Hospice, especially Nurse Dana.  She provided wonderful care for our father and showed respect and genuine caring for the family.
