William Bernard Baker of Seaford, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2022.
He was born on November 27, 1933 near Basye, Shenandoah County, Virginia. He was the son of William Cornelious and Virginia Agnes Baker. He was a member of the Stoney Creek Church of the Brethren in Basye.
William was a mechanic for the Seaford DuPont plant, retiring in 1989 after more than 27 years of service. He served honorably in the United States Army and Army Reserve, with the rank of Private First Class.
In addition to his parents, William and Virginia Baker, he was preceded in death by his nine siblings, and his beloved wife, Nellie Virginia Baker.
William is survived by his son, Jerry A. Baker, and his daughter, Cynthia B. Baker.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Thursday, June 2, 2022 with visitation from 12pm - 1pm at the Christ Lutheran Church, 315 N. Shipley Street, Seaford, DE 19973. Burial will be at the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Oak Grove, Seaford. Rev. Coty Lineweaver will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in William's memory may be made to the Christ Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 315 N. Shipley Street, Seaford, DE 19973.
