Virginia Lou Judy, affectionately known to her many friends as Ginny, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at the age of 97. Born on June 18, 1928, in Clarion, Pennsylvania, she was the last of seven siblings and the daughter of David and Mabel Lyle Smith.
She was a lifelong resident of Clarion and a devoted member of the Immaculate Conception Church. Ginny married George A. Judy of Lucinda on July 22, 1950, who preceded her in death in 2011. Together they raised five children: David and his wife Joyce of North Little Rock, AR; Vickie of Clarion; Bradley and his wife Christina of Mooresville, NC; Steve and his late wife Susie of Gravel Ridge, AR; and Joyce Adams and her husband Rick of Seaford, DE. Ginny was cherished by her four grandchildren—J.D. Hughes, Dani Mullins and husband Brian, Ashley Daudt and husband Matt, and Dr. Abigail Adams—and by her three great-granddaughters, Riley, Virginia Lou, and Ada Mullins.
After raising her family, Ginny worked for the Clarion Area School cafeteria, where she became a familiar and beloved face to many students. In her earlier years, she enjoyed dancing, spending time with friends, playing cards, and reading. She was known for her sense of humor and loved sharing jokes—even when the punchline had to be explained to her. She also enjoyed meeting with church friends at McDonald’s after daily mass.
Private services will be held by the family at a later date.
