Vikki Prettyman, age 50,  left this world surrounded by the most important people in her life on Monday, March 20, 2023.  Vikki’s first passion in life was motherhood and is survived by her son, Jake Allen Prettyman who was not only her best friend but her pride and joy.

Vikki was born on September 9, 1972 in Yokosuka Japan where she was carefully watched over by many on the military base.  Vikki was predeceased by her father, William A. Prettyman and  is survived by her mother and husband, Brenda J. Prettyman and Kenneth Gordon.  Vikki is also survived by her sister and husband Kristie L. Overstreet (Richard),  brother and wife  Chad A. Prettyman (Amy) nephews Richard, Thomas, William, Grant, as well as nieces Lindsey, and Bailey.  Vikki is also survived by her significant other, Michael Webster.

Vikki lived in multiple states before moving to Delaware where she flourished and made friends with everyone she met.  She had a love for photography and volunteering which included Code Purple where she served as Chairman of the Board from 2016-2017.  She graduated from Great Bridge High School and attended two years of college at Tidewater Community College.    Vikki worked as the Town Administrator for Blades for 11 years where she was instrumental in the community development, acquiring of new playground equipment, and spear headed and quickly rectified the water contamination in Blades in 2018.   Vikki became part of the Southeast Rural Community Assistance Project (SERCAP) in May 2021 and retired when her illness forced her to focus on herself.   Vikki held multiple licenses and certifications that allowed her to excel in her professional life and worked on numerous projects in both Delaware and Maryland.  Vikki was honored with the 2022 Team Spirit Award and the Women in Water Award in  2018.   Vikki was a member of the EPA-SBA for drinking water rulemaking regulations as well as a Kiwanis member.  Vikki leaves the world a much better place as she was a woman who loved to love people and although she will be missed by her son, family, and friends Vikki stood up for love and shared it with everyone she met and her legacy will live on through those she touched.
