Vera Evelyn Bramble (Nee Holland)

Vera Evelyn Bramble (Nee Holland) of Seaford, Delaware, age 94, died on Monday, January 4, 2021 at the Manor House in Seaford, Delaware.

            Vera was born in Muskegon, Michigan on March 27, 1926, the daughter of Charles and Ruth Holland. She was married on September 26, 1946, to Homer H. Bramble, Jr., and they were married for 62 years until Homer died on September 19, 2008. Vera graduated from Moorestown High School, Moorestown, New Jersey.

Vera was a loving and dedicated mother and wife who enjoyed painting, sketching and other art, singing in church choirs, benevolent care and volunteer work at social service agencies such as the Salvation Army, making new friends, keeping long-term friendships, helping family and neighbors, travel, reading and her work in business administration for engineering, contracting, electronics, fuel distribution and other companies over the years. She was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Seaford, and the Sussex County Art League.

She is survived by a daughter Renee L. Hammond and her husband Ray of Seaford, three sons, Barry B. Bramble and his wife Judith of Delanco, New Jersey, Robert E. Bramble and his wife Francine of Millville, Delaware, and James L. Bramble and his wife Sharon of Newport News, Virginia, 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was truly the matriarch of her family!

A graveside memorial service will be held at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church Cemetery, 205 Front Street, Seaford, Delaware on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at 1:00 PM, where she will be buried alongside her husband Homer. Funeral arrangements are being made by Cranston Funeral Home in Seaford.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church Cemetery, mailed to their offices at 202 North Street, Seaford, Delaware 19973.
