SUE MARSH STENBORG

Sue Marsh Stenborg passed away in her home on January 28, 2022 in Richmond, Virginia at the age of 76.  

Sue was born on November 28, 1945 in Lewes, Delaware to William and Emily Bryan Marsh.  She grew up in Seaford, Delaware where she graduated from Seaford High School in 1963.  That same year she was crowned Miss Seaford and Miss Delmarva.  She attended the University of Delaware and graduated in 1966.   After graduating, Sue’s first job was as a receptionist for T.B. O’Toole’s Realtors. Then she became a secretary at DuPont where she met Willard Stenborg, whom she married in 1976.  Together they had one child, Eric, in 1978.  Sue put her organisational skills to work at The Tatnall School, where Eric attended.  When Eric was young she volunteered her time there, but then later she took on the roles of the Lower School Secretary and then became the Headmaster’s Secretary, a role she continued and excelled in for many years.  She remained at Tatnall until her retirement in 2011.  After retirement, Sue moved to Richmond, Virginia to be closer to family.  During this time she made many friends in her Crossridge community and enjoyed spending her extra time with her young grandchildren.  

Sue is preceded in death by her parents William and Emily Bryan Marsh and her husband, Willard Stenborg.  She is survived and lovingly remembered by her son, Eric Stenborg, his wife, Catherine Stenborg, her four grandchildren Joshua, Ethan, Zachary and Elsie Rose Stenborg and by her sister Wendee Marsh Kramen. 

A graveside service will be held at Bethel Cemetery Savannah Rd Lewes at 11 AM on Thursday, February 3rd.
