Ruth Ann Komorowski

Ruth Ann Komorowski, age 82, of Seaford, DE, passed away on Thursday December 19, 2024, in her home surrounded by her loving family. 

Ruth was born in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania on October 8, 1942, and was the daughter of Ruth and Louis Zuzek. Ruth attended and graduated from Ridley Park High School in 1960 where she thoroughly enjoyed participating in the color guard. She received her teaching degree at West Chester University where she went on to teach until she met and married the love of her life, Edmond “Eddie” Komorowski.  After a hiatus when her children were in high school, she returned to P.S. Dupont Elementary school, to help pay for her daughters college education, where she made many friends and was loved by all she touched. 

Ruth was married for 52 years to her loving husband where they shared a wonderful life together until his passing in 2018.  She enjoyed camping every summer in Laurel and was an avid and devoted card player, she took no mercy no matter the age. Ruth was also a voracious reader, whether it be love stories or mysteries.  She also enjoyed playing board games, as well as dominoes. She loved her family and had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great grandchildren, “Whatever your little heart desires” was her favorite term of endearment. Ruth was adored by everyone who knew her. She had a compassionate nature and kind soul that drove her to give to anyone in need. Ruth will be deeply missed. 

She is preceded in death by her mother Ruth Zuzek, father Louis Zuzek, Sister Toni Zuzek, and her husband Edmond (Eddie) Komorowski. 

She is survived by her two daughters; Daria (Jacob) and Daina (Paul), five grandchildren; Jordan (Steven), Shaun (Michael), Jenna (Kenneth) Skylar (Andrew), and Ethan, five great grandchildren; Braeden, Hunter, Kaysen, Olivia and Mikey.

Instead of flowers, please send donations to the Sussex County SPCA in her name.  She had a love for animals and donated to the SPCA annually.
