Roger Bullock Jr Obituary

Roger Elmer Bullock Jr., age 42, of Harrington, DE, passed away on May 2, 2025. He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend.

Roger was preceded in death by his father, Roger Elmer Bullock Sr., and his brother, Joseph Burton Simmons Sr.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rian Annabeth Bullock; his daughters, Payton Marie Bullock and Margo Angela Bullock; his sister, Shellby Bowman; and his mother, Sharon Bullock.

Roger was a graduate of Lake Forest High School, Class of 2001, and continued his education in Drug/Alcohol Counseling at Delaware Technical Community College. After facing and overcoming life’s greatest challenges, Roger made a point to reach back and lift others up, embodying the true spirit of service and kindness. He dedicated his life to supporting men in recovery, saving many lives in the process. His monumental contributions to the recovery field have left a lasting impact, and he was revered by many for his unwavering commitment and compassion.

Roger had a good heart and was a man among men—someone who truly made a difference in the lives of those around him. He would give you the shirt off his back—and more—always ready to help someone in need. His legacy of kindness, strength, and love will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him. Roger's smile lit up every room he entered; it was truly impossible not to notice. Roger had a gift for making the whole room laugh, his sense of humor and his laughter will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.

Roger always had great hair and a great beard, earning him the nickname "Rodgehair," a fitting tribute to his distinctive look. He also had a genuine passion for shoes, often coordinating his outfits around his beloved Nikes. Whether it was the perfect pair of sneakers or the subtle details in his clothing, his careful attention to detail—down to the stitching of each piece—reflected his unique personality: full of character, warmth, and a true appreciation for the things he loved. A passionate enthusiast of classic video games, Roger cherished the memories he shared playing Super Mario Bros with his older brother. In his brother's memory, he proudly wore a Super Mario Bros sleeve of tattoos, symbolizing their special bond. Roger’s love for his pets, particularly his cherished cats, was evident in the joy and companionship they brought him. Roger was also passionate about U.S. history, Greek mythology, coin collecting, and caring for his lawn.
