Robert D. "Bob" Wright

Robert D. “Bob” Wright, 85, passed away on November 14, 2022, in Seaford, DE with his wife Edith by his side. Bob was born to parents Minos Elwood Wright and Florence M. (Cannon) Wright on March 20, 1937, in Federalsburg, MD.

Born into a family with little wealth but an abundance of ambition, a strong work ethic and a desire to create a good life for his family, Bob became a self-made man. He built houses, owned a bar, and ultimately operated his own Chrysler Dodge Jeep franchise for 28 years, until its sale in 2011. Not one to retire, Bob opened Wright’s Used Cars that he operated until his death.

Bob’s favorite things included stories of the Delaware State Police provided by his many friends and retirees of the force, riding motorcycles, watching westerns, the Masons (whose ring he never removed), and his dogs Duke and Buddy who preceded him in death. Most of all, Bob enjoyed talking about politics and current affairs with his many friends at his “round table” at the dealership. Bob greatly appreciated and enjoyed the time spent with friends who visited on a near-daily basis.

Bob leaves behind his wife Edith (Kahler) Wright, a son E. Scott Bradley (Amy), two grandchildren, Conner (Jessi) and Colton Bradley, and a great granddaughter, Harper Bradley. Bob is also survived by a brother Eugene (Beverly) and multiple nephews. Proceeding Bob in death are his parents, brother Elwood and sister Louise.
