Obituary
Ralph Earl Rhoades, age 84, of Laurel, DE, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2023. Ralph was born on April 28, 1939, in Cecilton, MD to the late William and Sarah Rhoades.
Ralph was a US Navy Veteran, after he served in the military Ralph worked as a meat cutter and meat manager for 45 years for A&P and Value Food, he drove motor coaches for Jor-lin Motor Coach, he was a Tow Truck Driver for The Car Store, and last but not least he was a Pharmacy Deliver Driver for Seaford Pharmacy.
In his spare time, Ralph enjoyed hunting, fishing, tinkering in the garage and working on his Ford Falcon. He loved to travel to Ocean City for vacations with his family. Ralph was an avid bowler, and in his early years he enjoyed roller-skating, where he actually met his wife on roller-skates in 1971, and they married in 1972.
Ralph is survived by his wife of 50+ years, Ruth Rhoades, two sons, John Glen Rhoades (Kimberly) and Robert Adam Rhoades (Vickie), brother, James Edwards Rhoades, sister, Betty Weisner, 10 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Aside from his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his son, William Franklin Rhoades II, and his brother, Robert Rhoades.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. John’s United Methodist Church at a late date.
