ROMA E O'DONNELL

Roma Elizabeth O’Donnell, age 88 of Seaford, passed away peacefully at Seasons Hospice in Christiana, surrounded by her family on Sunday, November 18, 2018, less than 1 month after the passing of her husband.

Roma was born in Philadelphia, the daughter of the late Joseph and Beatrice Chiriaco.  She graduated from Frankford High School in Philadelphia.  She went on to work briefly for an insurance company in Philadelphia where she met and married Charles.  She dedicated her life to being a loving wife and mother of four children.

She was an avid bowler in Willow Grove, PA and Seaford, DE, both in the women’s and mixed bowling leagues.  She was a member of the ladies auxiliary at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, where she also served as a greeter.  She was a member of the Federated Women’s Club; the Acorn Club, in Seaford for over forty years, where she served as president both at the local and state levels.  She volunteered for many years at the Nanticoke Hospital.  She was a member of her neighborhood red hats ladies club.

She is survived by her children, Christine O. Killmon (EJ), Jeanne M. Peteler, Charles M. O’Donnell III (Deborah), and Joseph J. O’Donnell (Nancy).  She has 7 loving grandchildren; Megan Bounds, Michael Killmon, David Killmon, Brian Peteler, Emma O’Donnell, Kolbe O’Donnell and Liam O’Donnell.

In addition to her parents, brothers, sisters, and son-in-law Brian Peteler, she was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 67 years Charles M. O’Donnell Jr.

Roma was a loving mom, mom-mom, aunt and friend.  She loved her family and friends and everything she did was for them.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 24th at 11 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 532 E. Stein Hwy, Seaford, DE.  Friends may call at Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N Shipley St, on Friday evening from 6 to 8 PM.  Burial will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.
