RAYMOND THOMAS Obituary

Raymond L. Thomas, 71, of Seaford, Delaware passed away on Friday, April 30th, at home following a short illness.  He was surrounded by his family who loved him dearly. 

 

Ray was born on January 1, 1950 in Durham, North Carolina.  He was the son of Jessie and Dorothy Hill Thomas. 

 

Ray graduated from Seaford Senior High School in 1968 and Salisbury University in 1977.  He married Nancy Watt Thomas in 1973.

 

Ray worked in the building industry as a manufacturer’s representative, a job he loved.  He retired in 2019. 

 

Ray’s life revolved around his family.  Ray lived a full and happy life as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.  He will be lovingly remembered for his outgoing personality and wonderful sense of humor. 

 

Ray was preceded in death by his son, Mark Thomas, and his parents.

 

Ray is survived by his wife, Nancy Thomas; two daughters, Leah Dickerson (Rook) and Rachel Gibson; grandchildren Caroline White, Genevieve Gibson, Olivia, Dylan and Drew Dickerson.  Ray is survived by his father-in-law William Watt; sisters Elna Watt, Kris Gholdston (Daniel), Deloris Gilliams, Sheila Hill, Dee Sard and brother Daniel Watt.  He is also survived by nephew Aaron Gholdston and numerous cousins including Diane Hill Freeman. 

 

A private family “Celebration of Life” will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021 at the Thomas home.
