Quentin Vernon Welch, age 93, of Seaford DE passed away surrounded by family on June 6, 2025. He was born on January 29, 1932, in Laurel, Delaware. After graduating from Laurel High, he worked for the Dupont Plant in Seaford Delaware before pursuing a career in electronics. He completed numerous electronic courses and gained employment as a line installer with the Telephone Company. He retired from AT&T and opened his own business, BellBoy Electronics. He was an enlisted member of the Delaware Army National Guard for 13 years and member of Telecom Pioneers.
Quentin was a Jack of All Trades tackling any job with vigor. He cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren either throwing a baseball or football, building model airplanes, riding motorcycles, attending firearms safety classes, navigation classes, little league games, track meets, wrestling matches, Boy Scout meetings, camping trips, Snoopy bedtime stories, and hunting.
Quentin was preceded in death by his father, James Ervan Welch, his mother, Sallie O’Neal Welch White, his stepfather Fred White, and his sister Jeanette Beard.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Rita Schaab Welch, of 70 years, two sons Curtis, and Stuart (Shelley), grandchildren Natalie Woodland, Stacey Seilheimer, Angela Childs, great grandchildren, Keith Woodland, Morgan Seilheimer, Noah Childs, and Shawn Seilheimer.
His cheerful, pleasant and approachable demeanor was contagious and will be missed by all
Funeral Services will take place on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 12:00 PM with a public visitation for family and friends between 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM at Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N Shipley Street, Seaford, DE. Immediately following funeral services, the burial will take place in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Laurel, DE.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting a donation to Hospice.
