Phillip A Burtelle, age 77, of Seaford DE, passed away peacefully at home on October 20, 2025, surrounded by friends. He was born on January 2, 1948, to the late Roy A Burtelle and Anna Mae Burtelle Conaway. He graduated from John Dickinson High School in Wilmington. Phil had many jobs early in his life, then establishing and was the owner of Phil Burtelle Painting in Seaford for over 30 years.
Phil enjoyed traveling with his companion, Becky Peterson. They traveled to many locations: islands in the Caribbean, Cancun, Mexico, and Hawaii prior to her passing in 2022.
As the head coach for the boy’s tennis team for Seaford High School, Phil enjoyed teaching and leading the team members to many successful seasons in the Henlopen Conference.
Phil is survived by his brother Ric Burtelle (Pam) and niece Brooke (Phillips) as well as Trent Peterson (Danielle) and their daughter Gracelyn.
Thanks to those who have sent cards and condolences to Trent after Phil’s passing.
