Peggy Joyce Hysan (Yoho), born on May 5, 1941, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
Peggy was preceded in death by her loving and wonderful husband, Stuart “Stu” Hysan, with whom she shared 61 beautiful years of marriage. Their bond was built on love, commitment, and devotion, serving as an inspiration to all who knew them. We find comfort in imagining that they are once again together, dancing in heaven and reunited in eternal love.
She is survived by her children, Jeffrey Stuart Hysan Sr. and Joy Lynn Corley (Hysan); her longtime partner, Zack T. Hodges III; her grandchildren, Jeffrey S. Hysan Jr., Daniel S. Hysan, Meredith L. Corley, Madison J. Corley, and Jennifer M. Hysan; six cherished great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy; and her four sisters and one brother.
Peggy was more than a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother—she was a role model, a source of wisdom, and a steadfast source of love and support for her family. Her kindness, strength, and generous spirit touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Throughout her life, Peggy found great happiness in her gardens and flowers. She had a special gift for nurturing beauty, and her vibrant gardens reflected the warmth, care, and love she shared with others. She also found tremendous joy in cooking for family and friends. Peggy’s kitchen was a place of comfort, laughter, and togetherness, and no one ever left her home hungry. Whether tending to her flowers, preparing a meal, or gathering loved ones around the table, she had a remarkable way of making everyone feel welcomed, cared for, and loved.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her loving heart, gentle spirit, and the countless memories she leaves behind. Her legacy will continue to live on through her family and all those whose lives she touched.
May she rest in peace, forever reunited with Stu and surrounded by the love that she so freely gave to others. While our hearts mourn her passing, we take comfort in knowing that she and Stu are together again, dancing among the heavens and watching over the family they cherished so dearly.
