Michael "Mustache" LeCates, 69, of Delmar, DE passed away on Sunday, February 11th, 2024 surrounded by family.
Mustache was born on March 4th, 1954 to the late Norval and Annie Betta "Betty" LeCates. He is survived by his daughters, Pamela Varvaro (Tony) and Michelle Phillips, both of Georgetown, DE; grandchildren, Kevin Taylor, Paul Moore, Julie Moore, Justin Moore, Christian Phillips, Keira Berezansky and two great-grandsons; his brother, Norval LeCates, JR; beloved cousin and caregiver, Brenda LeCates; a host of family members and life-long friend Ricky "Queenie" Layton.
Mustache is preceded in death by his parents, Norval LeCates, SR and Annie Betta "Betty" LeCates; as well as his sister Joyce Harris.
Mustache served in the Army National Guard and spent his working years as a professional truck driver. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, BBQing, stock car racing, and supporting the Laurel American Legion, Post 19. Most knew Mustache for his crude sense of humor and infectious laugh that could be heard from across the room.
He will be missed by many and we will always carry his memory in our hearts.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Atlantic Shores in Millsboro, DE for providing care for him over the last three years.
