Michael James von Thenen

Michael James von Thenen, age 59, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on December 27, 2025. He was born in Queens, NY on April 26, 1966, the son of the late Heinrich and Edith von Thenen.

Michael enjoyed doing DIY projects, playing card games with friends and family, and going target shooting. He was a police officer for Blades Police Department and went on to become a salesman for Accurate Pest Control until his disability kept him from working.

He is survived by his son, Michael Heinrich von Thenen, daughter, Tiffany Lance, two sisters, Bonnie von Thenen and Mary Rose, and two brothers, Charles von Thenen and Peter von Thenen.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Heinrich von Thenen, and mother, Edith von Thenen.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 2:00 PM with a public visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N Shipley Street, Seaford, DE.
