Marlene Perry Simpler, age 87, of Seaford, DE, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 23, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born on September 24, 1937, in Northwood, Iowa, the daughter of the late Harold and Ruby Perry.
Marlene was an avid member of the Order of the Eastern Star #7 (Sussex Chapter) and she was Worthy Grand Matron in 2009. She had many hobbies including bird watching, weather watching, camping, crocheting, knitting, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Ruby Perry, and her sister, Joan Schneiderman.
Marlene is survived by her husband of 64 years, Wayne Simpler, son, Bud Simpler, daughter, Cathy Simpler, two grandchildren, Hailey Simpler and David Simpler III (Maile), and one great-grandchild, Carson.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
