MINDY SLATER JONES

Mindy Lee (Slater) Jones, 68, of Seaford, Delaware went home to be with our Lord on January 27, 2022.  She passed away while in the Harrison House in Georgetown, Delaware.  Mindy was born April 30, 1953, to the late George and Ann Slater of Seaford, Delaware.  She was a graduate of Seaford High School’s Class of 1971.

Mindy’s one passion was animals!  Her love of animals began as a young child growing up with horses.  She had a heart for both dogs and cats, which became her beloved pets.

For many years, Mindy was a beautician and she worked hard to own her own salon.  Her salon was named, “Mindy’s Mane Cut”, after the horses she grew up loving at home.  She loved her clients, the Girls at the shop, and working with hair.  She also loved her hometown of Seaford and was respected by the community.

The beach was another favorite of hers.  If she wasn’t home, she was on the beach getting a summer tan.  Antique shopping was also a favorite pastime on Sunday afternoons.  Mindy touched the lives of many people with a smile and her generous heart.

Mindy is survived by her son, Brian Bie of Wilmington, DE; sister, Pat Purse (Eric) of Seaford, DE; many nieces and nephews, Troy Purse (Wendy), Kynia Taylor (Tom), Aaron Purse (Amy), Curt Purse (Katie) all of Seaford, G.R. Slater of Florida and Robin Schroeder of Virginia.

A celebration of Mindy’s life will be held at Wesley Church, 22025 Atlanta Road, Seaford, DE on February 12, 2022.  Pastor Beth Elzey will officiate the ceremony.  Family and friends can call at 11am, followed by a service at 12pm.
