LUCILLE P RIGBY

Lucille Pritchett Rigby passed away April 9, 2020 at home with her family.  She was born September 13, 1936 in Bishops Head, MD, the daughter of the late Wilson Davis Pritchett and the late Mildred Mills Pritchett of Bishops Head, MD.  She graduated as Valedictorian of the first graduating class of South Dorchester High School in 1954.  She married the late John B Rigby of Bridgeville, DE on March 8, 1957 at Calvary Baptist Parsonage in Salisbury, MD.  .

Lucille, also known as Lucy, was a wonderful homemaker and nurturer.  She was a Sunday School teacher at Laurel Wesleyan Church for years and worked with the Boy Scouts of America as den mother.  She enjoyed flea markets, cooking, reading and her grandchildren. They were the lights of her life.  Her passion in life was in caring for others.

Lucille is survived by her son, John Brinton Rigby, II, daughter-in-law, Nancy Fuhrmann Rigby, of Delmar DE and her two precious granddaughters, Jessica Brittany Rigby of Longmont, CO and Jennifer Brooke Rigby, of Delmar DE.  She is also survived by two remaining brothers, O’Neal Pritchett and his wife Lois of Milford DE, and Melvin Pritchett of Toddville, MD.  She was preceded in death by 4 sisters, Henerietta Pritchett, Mary Anne Thomas, Blondell Pritchett and Nancy Lee Pritchett, and 3 brothers, Wilson Davis Pritchett, Jr., Robbie Sutton Pritchett and Rufus Pritchett.

All services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Seasons Hospice of Delaware in remembrance of Lucille Rigby.
