Wife of James Bruhn, New Jersey Iron Worker, Local 11
Preceded in death by her mother, Irene (Nanny) Schell. Judith (Judy) Bruhn, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025, after a long and beautiful life. Though cancer claimed her body, it never dimmed her vibrant spirit or loving heart.
Born to Irene Schell, who instilled in her a deep love for God and devotion to family, Judith carried those values throughout her life. She is reunited in eternity with her daughter Jewelene, her son John Henry, and her brother Ronnie.
A woman of devout faith, her brother Melvin Frank Schell helped shape her love for God, while her sister Juanita and her niece Marla walked alongside her in fellowship and prayer. She was the glue of her family, a neighborhood mom in her younger years, and above all, a deeply forgiving person whose grace touched everyone around her. Judith lived fully by her favorite verse, 2 Timothy 1:7: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” She moved through life with courage, love, and a peaceful heart that inspired all who knew her.
Judith is survived by her devoted husband, James; her children Joseph, Jimmy, and Jennell; her sister Nita; her brother Mel; her cherished grandchildren Jose II, Julianna, Jessenia, Julius, Isabel, Chase, Luke, Amanda, Anthony, and Kelsey; her great-grandson Jose III. and so many others.
Her family finds comfort knowing she is at peace, embraced by God, and watching over them with the same loving heart she carried throughout her life.
The family welcomes donations made to Christ Lutheran Church, 315 N Shipley St, Seaford, DE 19973, in Judith’s honor.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 12:00 PM, with a public visitation from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, at Christ Lutheran Church, 315 N Shipley St, Seaford, DE 19973. Following funeral services, burial will take place at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE.
