Joy Marie Steckel

Joy Marie Steckel, age 66, passed away at home on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, in Seaford, Delaware while surrounded by her husband and brother and very soon after by Vitas Hospice Care Nurses, also by two loyal cats Codi and Raffi.

Born Reading, PA on March 4, 1956.  Married to Lindy in 1990, they celebrated their 32nd anniversary on June 16.  They just recently moved to Seaford from Bel Air, Maryland where they both lived with Joy’s precious cats for 25 years.

Joy was a phlebotomist and worked for several years even while on disability due to several neck and back surgeries; and still was a caretaker for several people. She loved cats and volunteered at PetSmart. She briefly was an ER Tech at The Old Baltimore Church Home Hospital.

Joy is survived by her husband of 32 years, Lindy, her brothers, Jay and Joel (Desire), her two sons, Lance and Justin, nephews, Ryan, Adam, and Dylan, and a nieces, Selena.
