Jose Benito Martinez Jr, affectionately known as lil Bennie or Marty, was born on September 4, 1952, and passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026, entering the eternal loving embrace of the Lord.
He was a man whose presence stayed with you — warm, loyal, and unforgettable. He touched the lives of many through his genuine heart, steady strength, and the love he showed to those around him.
A proud Army Veteran, he served in the United States Army with honor, discipline, and unwavering commitment. After his military service, he built a long and respected career as an electrician with IBEW Local 477, where he was known for his skill, dedication, and strong work ethic.
He lived life with a spirit entirely his own. He loved to have fun, enjoyed shopping, and never turned down a good argument — especially the kind that ended in laughter or a playful shake of the head.
Even as he valiantly battled many chronic illnesses, he faced each day with resilience, humor, and the same bold personality that made him unforgettable. His Catholic faith remained a steady source of comfort and strength throughout his life.
He is survived by his son, Jeffery Martinez, his daughter, Nikki Martinez-Myers, daughter in law Kristin Martinez and his sister, Fermina Dolores Hernandez. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Dylan Martinez and Hollymarie Summers, as well as several nieces and nephews, all of whom brought him joy and held a special place in his heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fermina Martinez and Jose Benito Martinez Sr., his younger brother, Guadalupe Martinez, his godson, Vernon Christopher Hernandez, and his son‑in‑law, David Myers Jr. Each of his loved ones carries forward his memory with pride, love, and deep gratitude for the time they shared with him.
A Private Military Service will be determined at a later time. Loved ones will be invited to gather, honor his life, and celebrate the moments and memories he leaves behind.
