Jon O Stanley Sr

Jon O Stanley Sr, age 87, of Seaford, DE, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on May 12, 2025. Jon was born on October 18, 1937, in Burlington, VT, the son of the late Azro and Virginia Stanley.

Jon enlisted in the Air Force upon graduating High School, after his service in the military he attended the University of Vermont where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.  After graduating college, Jon began his career with DuPont where he would eventually retire as a Senior Research Engineer.

Jon had many hobbies including golfing, taking his 65' Mustang to car shows, and enjoying bourbon with friends and family. He was a member of the VFW Virgil Wilson Post 4961 in Seaford, the Nanticoke River Yacht Club in Blades, and often frequented Grotto Pizza and Texas Roadhouse with his friends as well.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Lois A Stanley, and his parents, Azro and Virginia Stanley.

Jon is survived by his daughter, Toneen Costantino (Patrick), his son, Jon Stanley Jr (Christine), five grandchildren, Christian Costantino (Macie), Dominic Costantino (Tori), Anthony Costantino, Gunner Stanley, and Caden Stanley, and a great grandchild on the way.  He is also survived by a stepsister, Patricia Thomas (Gary).

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 528 E Stein Highway, Seaford, DE.
