John T Pettyjohn Sr

John T Pettyjohn Sr, age 89, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2024, at home surrounded by his family.  He was born on May 27, 1935, in Georgetown, DE to the late Horace and Lina Pettyjohn.

John was a United States Army Veteran, and he was a member of the VFW #4961, The Moose Lodge #1728, and the American Legion Post 6. He enjoyed working, tinkering on little projects, and spending time with his friends and fellow veterans. 

He is survived by four daughters, Deborah Sibert (Gary), Deanna Nack (Billy), Tina Pettyjohn, and Tammy Denherder (Alan), three sons, Thomas Edward Pettyjohn (Donnabelle), William Howard Hitchens, and John T Pettyjohn Jr (Melody). John is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

John is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Louise Pettyjohn, sisters, Alma Pettyjohn, Doris Johnson, and Frances Ockels.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024, at 11 AM at Blades Cemetery, Blades, DE.
