John Beauchamp Obituary

With deep sorrow and gratitude for his life, we announce the passing of John Franklin Beauchamp, beloved husband, father, and grandfather. John peacefully went to be with the Lord on July 22, 2025, at the age of 84, surrounded by his family.

Born on July 20, 1941, in Nassawadox, VA, John was a man of steadfast dedication, boundless generosity, and a heart that always put others first.

A proud Marine veteran, John served his country with honor, and that sense of duty carried through into every aspect of his life. After his service, he went on to establish J. Maur Sheet Metal, a small but highly respected company where he worked alongside a close-knit team of family and friends. Together, they created custom hoods and sheet metal work for businesses across the Eastern Shore and beyond the bridge, providing craftsmanship that people relied on for years.

John’s passion wasn’t just in the work he did, but in how he did it—with integrity, kindness, and a sense of responsibility to those around him. He was a true provider, always making sure others were cared for. Whether he was making sure a meal was on the table for his family or offering support to his employees, John never hesitated to lend a hand.

Beyond his work, John loved the simple joys of life—nothing brought him more happiness than gathering around a meal with loved ones or sharing stories with friends. His weekend Turkey Shoot tournaments were a cherished tradition, bringing together family and friends for good times and laughter. His love for food, whether preparing or enjoying it, was a central part of who he was—always ensuring that everyone was fed and well taken care of.

John will be remembered most for his deep love of family and his selflessness. He dedicated his life to providing for those he loved, always with a quiet strength that made him a constant in the lives of those who knew him.

John is preceded in death by his loving mother, Anna Mae Knicely, who we know welcomed him above with open arms.

He leaves behind his devoted wife, Karon Beauchamp, his loving daughter, Tammy Phillips (David), and his cherished granddaughter, Taylor Calnon (Ted), along with many extended family members and friends whose lives he touched. His passing leaves an irreplaceable void, but his legacy of love, generosity, and service will endure forever.

A celebration of John’s life will be held graveside at the Line United Methodist Church Cemetery in Whitesville, MD on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to U.S.VETS.

Rest in peace, John. Your love, strength, and generosity will never be forgotten.
