Obituary
Jeremiah Lee Horne, 83, known to family and friends as Jerry or Pop passed away peacefully at home on August 30, 2023. He was born on February 18, 1940, to Earl and Vera Horne.
Jerry spent many years as a Carpenter before moving on to Pet Shop Owner, Shift Supervisor at Delagra in Bridgeville, Delaware and finally retiring from his much-loved position as a School Bus Driver. When he wasn’t working Jerry could be found bowling, fishing or at his favorite pastime spending time with his family and friends.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Sheila McCane, brother Stanley Horne and sister Patsy Wooters. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Norma Lee; brothers Wayne Horne and Earl Horne Jr.; daughters, Tina Rawls (Gary) and Jerrilee Horne (Melissa Kaye); grandchildren, Windi McCane (Joey Chambers), Brandi McCane, Shelby Disharoon (Tyler), Haley Rawls and Brandon Simpson; great grandchildren, Alayna Chambers, Aiden Disharoon and Camden Disharoon.
Services will be held at Victory Tabernacle Church of God in Laurel, DE on Friday, September 8, 2023. Visitation is 12pm to 1pm followed by a Memorial Service from 1pm to 2pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Hospice, 30265 Commerce Drive Suite 205 in Millsboro, DE.
