Jean S. Wells, of Seaford, passed away, suddenly, on July 4th, at Beebe Hospital from complications after a surgical procedure.
Jean, was born on November 25, 1944 in Brooklyn, New York to Jeanette M. and Warren S. Wells. She spent her early life in the Syracuse area. Her father was an accomplished tool and die contractor and his trade took the family to many locations. Jean often remarked about how many schools she attended.
When her father retired, they located in Seaford and opened an antique shop. Jean soon followed and eventually, went to work for them. Her talents were many. She began restoring old trunks that were quite beautiful. At some point she began making cut and pierced and hand painted lamp shades and has continued that throughout her life. She was also very knowledgeable about antiques, especially lamps, which she restored to their former glory.
Besides her parents, Jean was pre-deceased by her beloved pets, Elsa, Lucky and more recently Willie.
Jean is survived by her son, Christopher Wells, her new puppy, Hank, and a multitude of friends who adored her, as she did them.
