James "Jim" Price Jr. Obituary

James “Jim” E. Price Jr. passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024 with his loving wife Nancy by his side.

Born and raised in Easton, MD, Jim served in the United States Air Force right out of high school, even lying about his age to enter the service early. He utilized his extraordinary memory to work in surveillance during the Vietnam War, where he ended his honorable service as a sergeant.

He later moved to Seaford, DE and worked in Salisbury, MD for over 30 years as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for both K&L Microwave and Lorch Microwave, where his colleagues described him as a brilliant, gentle and compassionate mentor and leader. He was grateful for the opportunities and mentorship given to him by Dick Bernstein and Charlie Schaub that helped him build this career. Jim and Nancy’s story began in 1985 at work, where they bonded over their mutual love of engineering and design.

Before having their daughter in 1993, Jim and Nancy loved to travel and explore new islands together. Jim was so proud of his daughter Lauren and enjoyed being her biggest supporter at swim meets, horse shows and in her academics. Family and friends always said that he had a certain glow in his eyes when talking about Lauren. Jim loved bass fishing, golfing with Fred and Jason Cook on weekends, lunches with longtime friend Pat Donaway, reading books on his Kindle, watching his beloved Baltimore Orioles, and traveling the world for work.

He is predeceased by his mother Joyce, his father James Sr., his brother Rodney and his mother-in-law, Catherine Delario. He is survived by his wife Nancy Delario Price, his daughter Lauren (Anthony) and his siblings: Marilyn Russell (Bill), Terri Vieira (Dean), Cindy Stoker (Brad) and David Price. Additionally, he is survived by sister-in-law Rosemary Castiglioni (John), brother-in-law Ray Delario and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by his two beloved puppies, Remington and Penny Lane, who loved no spot more than his lap while he sat in his recliner.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, January 11 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Seaford, DE.
