James S Ockels

James S Ockels, age 72, of Seaford, DE, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 29, 2024, with his family by his side.  James was born in Milford, DE, on February 23, 1952, the son of the late William and Jean Ockels.

James was a self-employed farmer in Sussex County for his entire life, and he loved driving tractors and plowing. He enjoyed the outdoors, and driving around on his four-wheeler as long as he was able.

He survived by his brother, Donald Ockels, sister, Grace Stakiel, nephews, Brian Massey, Scott Massey, Matt Ockels, and Ben Mowbray, nieces, Marie Massey, Kate Johnson, Lori Miller, and Faye Allen. 

James is preceded in death by his parents, William and Jean Ockels, brother, Billy Ockels, sisters, Debbie Massey and Joyce Ockels. 

Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025, at 2:30 PM at Blades Cemetery, Blades, DE.
