Obituary

Gary Callaway, age 75, of Bridgeville, DE, went to be with the Lord on April 26, 2023.

Gary was born on June 18, 1947, in Seaford, DE, a son of the late Alton Callaway and Gladys Callaway. He was a graduate of Seaford Senior High School and served in the National Guard.

Gary retired from DuPont after 40 years of service. Throughout the years, he enjoyed boating, riding motorcycles, lawn care, traveling, and caring for the horses. Gary was proud to serve as a volunteer fire fighter with the Blades Volunteer Fire Company and became a lifetime member.

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his brother Robert Callaway. He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Susan Callaway; daughter, Dr. Garan Callaway; brother, Ronald Callaway; sister, Patricia Smith; stepson, James Shultie (Amy); grandchildren, Jake, Janet, and Olivia Shultie; several nieces & nephews.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, May 6, at Blades Fire Hall, with viewing from 12-1PM; service at 1PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations “In memory of Gary Callaway” be made to Blades Volunteer Fire Company, 200 E 5th St, Blades, DE 19973.
