Gerald Lester Harman, age 65, of Seaford, DE passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021.
Gerald was born in Washington D C, the son of the late Robert Lee and Mabel Harman. He moved to Eldorado, MD on the eastern shore with his parents when he was a teenager. He attended North Dorchester High School.
He took a job as a BCF Spinning Operator at the Seaford DuPont Plant, where he worked for almost 4 decades before the plant shut down. Unfortunately for Gerald, he was still too young to retire and only received a portion of the retirement benefits. He never stopped working and purchased a lawn equipment sales and service in Greenwood, DE with his close friend John Fisher. After closing that business, he slowed down to only 40 hours a week and began helping his childhood friend Clyde Harding on his farms as well as helping anyone that need his assistance, including his brother, Rob. All who knew Gerald knew he would never refuse to help a friend with a project and expected nothing in return.
Gerald is survived by his wife Carol Burtelle, son Sean Harman and daughter, Audrey Carlisle, brothers, Ronald Lee Harman, Michael Edward Harman, and Robert Roy Harman Sr, grandchildren, Kayla, Ricky, Hayden, Austin, Ethan, Aaron, Yady, Eric, Anna, 2 step children, David and Michael and four great-grandchildren.
He may have married and divorced, but he remained close to his ex-wives and family through it all to the very end. Everyone who knew him, loved him and he will be missed here, but treasured in heaven for reflecting Christ in his life.
Funeral Services will be on Monday, February 1st at 1 PM at the Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N. Shipley St, Seaford, where friends may call from 12 to 1. Burial will be in Brookview Cemetery, Rhodesdale, MD.
