It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Fay Marvel, age 90, on Wednesday, November 13, 2024.
Fay was born on February 12, 1934, in Seaford Delaware. She was the granddaughter of Professor Alex Harrington and Reverend Kenton Moyer. As a child, she spent her free time walking to and playing at both homes, she was privileged to have many relatives living nearby.
Fay attended Seaford High School, where she made many friends and was always the jokester. If you asked her how she was doing, she would reply, copacetic, with a big smile on her face.
As an adult, she worked the candy counter at the Layton theater, delivered the Sussex guide to businesses in Seaford and surrounding areas, and worked the lunch counter at Hopkins drugstore for Doc Hopkins. One of her biggest joys was Nannying for a family with two children. A job she had to relinquish, to take care of her ailing mother.
Nothing made Fay happier than being around babies and children. Although she never had any of her own, she cherished her time with her nieces and nephews, and treated them as her own.
Fay is preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Paul Moyer, husband Tommy Marvel, first husband, Riley Argo, and siblings, Bonnie Litchford (Herb) and Jay Moyer (Joanne)
She is survived by many nieces, nephews and step grandchildren, who loved her dearly.
May she rest in peace, she will truly be missed by all of the lives she touched.
