Emma Messick Hignutt Collins

Emma Messick Hignutt Collins, 90, passed away on July 16, 2022. She was married to Leon Collins Sr. for 9 years until he passed September 5, 2021. Prior to Leon, she was married to Dawson E. Hignutt Sr. for 52 years until he passed on July 15, 2000.

Emma and Dawson had four children: Dawson (Eddie) Hignutt Jr., Vickie A. Whaley (Barry), Gwendolyn R Wint, David W. Hignutt Sr; 10 grandchildren: Paul Hignutt (Sara), Michele Lorah (Don), Sherry Cooper (Paul), Christopher Whaley (Irene), Christina Mummert (Doug), Jason Hawk (Shannon), Brandon Hawk, Jennifer Macinta (Jon), David Hignutt Jr., Kara Hignutt, and 15 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her two husbands, and a daughter Gwendolyn Wint who passed away on February 28, 2011.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 22 at 2:00 PM at Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N Shipley Street, Seaford, DE, where friends may call from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Seaford, DE.
