Eleanor Rae (Willey, Smith) Disharoon passed away at the age of 80, on Friday, May 16th, 2025, in her home, surrounded by family members, from a 9 year battle with breast cancer.
Eleanor's main focus in life was God and Family. She was a long time member of the Christian Church of Seaford and believed in One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism (Ephesians 4:5) and always looked for opportunities to invite people to church and share the gospel.
She was someone her family could always go to for advice, love and comfort. She showed unconditional love, strength of spirit, sassy sense of humor and an unending generosity that could be seen in her care for her family and friends.”
Eleanor worked in retail for the majority of her employed years, spending the majority of her years at the Wigwam and Walmart in Seaford where she enjoyed interacting with her customers.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her first husband of 44 years, Raymond Smith, her mother and father (Atwood and Mildred Willey) and her sisters (Irene Gause and Betty Wilkerson Joseph).
Eleanor is survived by her husband Milton Disharoon, her sister Norma Lee Willey, 5 children (Deborah Kidwell, Teresa Mariner, Sabra Hall, Kevin Smith and Shelly Smith), 4 stepchildren (Thomas Disharoon, Debra Jefferson, Melvin Disharoon, Ricky Disharoon) as well as several nieces and nephews, and numerous grandchildren & great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Funeral Services will take place on May 22, 2025, at 1:00 PM with a public visitation from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Christian Church of Seaford, 22581 Sussex Highway, Seaford, DE. Graveside interment will take place at Old Paths Church of Christ, 18295 Redden Rd., Georgetown, DE following the funeral service.
