Edna G. Donovan, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished “Nanny,” passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026, at the age of 85, after a long and courageous journey with dementia and Alzheimer’s.
Edna was the heart and foundation of her family. She lived a life defined by strength, devotion, and unconditional love. She was known for always putting her family first and for the quiet but powerful way she cared for those around her. One of the greatest examples of her love was raising her granddaughter as her own daughter, providing her with stability, guidance, and a lifetime of support that shaped generations to follow.
Throughout her life, Edna endured deep personal loss, including the passing of her husband, the late Medford E. Donovan, as well as her children Dale Harding, Tina Donovan, and Tammy Donovan. Despite these hardships, she remained a steady source of love and strength for her family.
She is survived by her daughters Charlotte Donovan Lamping and her husband Don, and Bobbie Jo Donovan.
She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jody Meredith and her husband Jason; Josh Donovan and his wife Ariel; Wendie Seward; John Dale Seward; Christina Vanwagoner; Terry Vanwagoner; and Mary Vanwagoner.
Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Logan Meredith, Alea Meredith, Hailey Meredith, Lilyana Richards, Khloie Irvin, Layela Irvin, Jasper Walls, Josh Walls, Levi Donovan, and Liam Donovan. She was especially blessed to see the next generation with the birth of her great-great-grandson, Braxton Meredith.
Edna was preceded in death by her brother Edward Harding; her sisters Louise Harding Murphy and Ann Harding Clark; and is survived by her brothers Norman Harding and Richard Harding, and her sister Joyce Harding Bedard. She also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews. The family would especially like to recognize her niece Michelle, who made sure her father Richard was able to see his sister Edna, and her nephew Curtis, who remained faithfully by her side during the last three weeks of her life.
Edna’s family finds comfort knowing she is now at peace after a life devoted to loving and caring for others. Her strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family will live on in all who knew her.
