Dawn Elaine LaPrad

Dawn Elaine LaPrad, age 58, passed away July 30, 2023, after recovering from a stroke and then developing lung cancer which ultimately took her life. She was born January 22, 1965, in Crisfield, MD and was a graduate of Washington High in Princess Ann, MD.  She was employed at Dover Electric in Seaford, DE where she had been a valued and devoted employee loved by many.

She is predeceased by her parents John Byrd, Linda Byrd Hampton, stepfather Carter Hampton and her brother John Byrd Jr.  She is survived by her husband Robert David LaPrad, her son Steven Dorrell, daughter Taylor Dorrell, granddaughter Harper Warren, and sister Shirley Adams McKibbon.

She was a devoted wife and mother who loved and cherished her time with husband and her children and especially her time with granddaughter, Harper.  She loved her time spent cooking with her husband and taking care of her dogs and plants.  She will surely be missed.  Music was her passion and loved attending concerts whenever she could.  Her smile would light up a room and with her kind heart she would make friends instantly wherever she went. 

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service for Dawn LaPrad on Saturday, August 12 at Cranston Funeral Home in Seaford, DE. Time to visit family and share memories will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 PM with the service to be held at 2:00 PM.  A celebration of life will be held at CC22 directly after.
