Cathaleen Guessford

Cathaleen Guessford, age 75, passed away peacefully at the Country Rest Home in Greenwood on October 7,2025.

She was born in Berwick, Pa. on March 20,1950 to Robert and Dorothy Smith who preceded her in death.

She grew up in Seaford, De. and later moved to Cambridge, Md. where she taught English at Cambridge South Dorchester, retiring in 2009. Cathy was a wonderful teacher and was much loved by many students.

Cathy was also a wonderful seamstress and cook. She was an avid reader and owned a library of books.

She is survived by a sister and her husband, Sharon and James Insley of Cambridge, Md. A sister, Donna Curry of Seaford, De. Two nieces and one nephew, four great nieces and two great nephews.

Cathy will be greatly missed by family and all the lives she touched in her lifetime. A celebration of her life was private.
