Beverly Roupp Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Beverly Jean Roupp on February 9, 2025, at the age of 81. She was surrounded by her husband and children and daughter-in-law. Beverly was a beloved wife to William Roupp (Bill) for 62 years and cherished by family, friends and the community.

Beverly’s parents preceded her in death Vivian and Bernard Alexander as well as her older brother Donald. Beverly grew up in the Village of Blackwell in the town of Morris, PA. From a very early age, Beverly’s vibrant spirit and smile was contagious to all who encountered her. It was that infectious spirit that caught the heart of her devoted husband, when they were in the 8th grade. Bill and Beverly’s love story is remarkable and rare. Beverly and Bill’s pride and joy: their three children Bryan, Michael (wife Amy) and Susan (husband Alan Kent), their grandchildren Chase Roupp (wife Hannah), Landen Roupp (Cierra), Taylor Prance, Johnathan Kent and William Kent and their great granddaughter, Payton Roupp.

Bill and Beverly were married in their small Pennsylvania community and lived in Virginia, Kentucky, California, and Indiana before settling in Seaford, DE in 1973. Beverly was an amazing homemaker, known for her commitment to volunteering in the music and children’s programs at church, which impacted many young people in the community. Coordinating a youth choir from her hometown in Pennsylvania to perform together with the Mt. Olivet UMC’s Children’s Choir the musical “They All Sang Jesus”. The production was impactful for all who participated and shared the simple and powerful message of Jesus’ Love.

Beverly was very passionate about her 23-year career at Delaware Technical and Community College where she began a part-time position setting up “Summer Kids College”. She retired as the Program Manager for the Department of Continuing Education.
