Annabelle Elizabeth Milligan Truitt, age 85, passed away on October 20, 2020. She was born August 19, 1935, in Seaford, DE. After years of moving – she settled back in Bridgeville, DE- where she graduated with the Bridgeville Class of 1954. She met during high school her lifelong love, Donald E Truitt and married on October 30, 1954. She led a very spirited life, with working on the farm and spending time with her extremely close knit farm family – that being the core of her life. Her best friend and sister-in-law, Shirley Cook – were often found riding the roads of Reliance, Seaford and beyond – always seeking fun and adventure.
She worked for 27 years – from March 1967 to June 1995- in the Seaford School District as a Cafeteria worker. Proudly serving our children. She was active at the Bridgeville Church of God and the Bethel Worship Church in her later years. She loved Church functions, concerts, yard sales, Bible studies and was well known for her Coconut Cake auctions. Her quiet, gentle and pleasant demeanor was always willing to help, work and support others.
Annabelle moved to the Methodist Manor House Assisted Care in 2018 – when Dementia left her unable to support herself on a day to day basis. She fell in love with many of the aids and nurses who took special care of her for the time she was there and through the nightmare of Covid – when she was separated from her family visits.
She is survived by her son, Donald E Truitt Jr (Trish) and her daughter, Brenda Daniels. She has five grandchildren, Chad (Kelsey), Zeb, Sam, Max and Leah. She is proceeded in death by her husband, Donald Truitt, in 1981 and son-in law, Harold R. Daniels, plus her brothers, Alton Milligan and Emerson Milligan.
