William H. Mahr, 73, passed peacefully on October 1, 2018. Known to many as Bill or Bear. He was born and raised on a farm in Hardscrabble, Delaware then later resided in Seaford. He was a graduate of Seaford Senior High School, where he played football. He retired from Southern States. Bill had a special bond with his dog Duke, the two of them were inseparable. He was an avid hunter, gun collector, football fan, and enjoyed wood-working. Bill was a huge fan of Richard Petty, Jimmy Johnson, NASCAR and enjoyed John Wayne “The Duke” moves.
Proceeded in death by his parents Christia and Mazie Mahr, brothers, Edward Hensley, Carl Mahr, sisters, Wanda Walker and Betty Bowdle. He is survived by brother, Chris Mahr of North Olmsted, Ohio, sister, Victoria (Vicki) Pfeifle (Carl Pfeifle) of Shortly, Delaware and brother, Bruce Mahr (Vicki Mahr) of Seaford, DE, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and lifelong friends.
In keeping with Bill’s wishes, services will be private.
