WAYNE MERRITT

Wayne Merritt, age 78, of Seaford, DE passed away on Friday, June 7, 2019.

          Wayne retired from the Seaford School District.  He also retired from the Delaware Army National Guard.  He was a Life Member and Past President of the Blades Fire Company, he was Fire Police Emeritus.  In retirement he was also a breakfast cook at the VFW and the American Legion in Seaford.

          He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Doris Holden Merritt, 2 sons, Lee Merritt (Anjel), and Lin Merritt (Mona), 5 grandchildren, Kyle, Tyler, Lindsey, Hannah and Beeca, a brother, David Merritt and 2 sisters, Paige Matthews and Carol Ann Gunper.

          A Fireman’s Funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 12th at 11 AM at the Blades Fire Hall, 200 E. 5th St, Blades, DE, where friends may call from 10 to 11.  Burial will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro

          In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations may be made to the Blades Fire Company, 200 E. 5th St, Blades, DE 19973.
