Sally Ann Morris

Age 89, of Bridgeville, Delaware, passed away on August 5, 2017 at Delaware Hospice in Milford.  Born in St. Louis, Missouri on July 29, 1928, she was the daughter of Max and Helen Grothman.

Sally graduated from Southwest High School in St. Louis in 1946 where she participated in the Glee Club. After graduation, she moved to Seattle, Washington where she lived with her maternal grandparents and worked at The Doctors Hospital for three years.  After returning to St. Louis, she became engaged to the love of her life, Walther Morris. They married in 1951 and moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee and had three children.  The family also lived in Martinsville, Virginia, Wilmington, Delaware, and Seaford, Delaware.  They settled in Bridgeville in 2005.

Over the course of her life, Sally enjoyed her bridge clubs, bowling leagues, playing golf, and boating.  She was a member of the Nanticoke River Yacht Club.  She volunteered at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital. Her primary goal in life was to love and support her family.

Sally is survived by her three children, Cathy (Rocky) Kelman, Pamela (Carl) Stroud, and William (Pam) Morris along with 4 grandchildren and their spouses, 5 great-grandchildren, sisters Yvonne Brandt of St. Louis, Missouri and Patricia (Bob) Wichmann of Atlanta, Georgia along with nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

A memorial Service will be held at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in Seaford, where she was a member for 46 years, on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 11:00.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Bridgeville Volunteer Fire Company, Inc. P.O. Box 727, Bridgeville, DE 19933.
