PAULETTE FILIPKOWSKI HAASEN

Paulette Filipkowski Haasen, age 76, passed away peacefully on October 16th.  She was at home and surrounded by family.

Originally from Baltimore, Paulette lived in Seaford, Delaware for 35 years.  She is survived by two daughters, Wanda Furletti (Michael) and Bridget Herbst (Carl), two sons, Mark Haasen (Sandy) and Don Haasen, Jr. (Karyn), 10 grandchildren, Gregory Furletti, Jennifer Furletti Airey (Jon), Leah Haasen, Mark Haasen Jr. (Laura), Brian Haasen, Lacey Schaap (Derek), Carl Herbst Jr., Justin Herbst, John Roche (Jessica), and Dennis Roche, and 5 great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Owen Airey, Wesson Schaap, Silas Haasen and Connor Roche.

Paulette attended St. Michaels High School in Baltimore City, and was employed in retail and banking after graduation.  She worked at a number of financial institutions in Baltimore prior to moving to Seaford in 1984.  She retired from First Omni Bank in Millsboro, DE.

Paulette’s passion in life was her family.  Every holiday was a family celebration and the more, the merrier.  She loved to dance, laugh, entertain with a story, and, famously, play the accordion.  Her partner in life was her husband, Don.  She lost Don in 2017 after caring for him throughout his fight with Alzheimer’s disease.  In life, the twosome was always together; they’re now reunited.
