Norma Hamstead O’Bier passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at her home on Rivers End Dr, Seaford, DE. After a brief illness she succumbed and went willingly to her maker.
She was the daughter of Ami & Joy Hamstead of Greenwood.
Norma retired from the State of Delaware Education System as a Special Education Teacher in Laurel after having taught in several locations due to the relocation of her husband in his job.
Norma in addition to her “Home” duties was interested in crafts and sewing and even created some of her husband’s clothes including his Ties. She also carried on her mother’s attempt to complete a “Family Tree” of the Hamsteads and published a book on that subject which led her to Germany in search of her roots.
Norma is survived by her husband of 64 years, William Francis O’Bier, daughters, Sharon Marie Myers of Seaford, and Martha Ellen Carmine of Bridgeville, two sisters, Lucille McDaniel and Edith Andrews, two grandchildren, Jordan Crocket and Greg Wheatley, two great-grandchildren, Ella Marie Crocket and Wyatt Crocket.
Graveside Services will be on Tuesday, March 13th at 1:30 PM at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Oak Grove. Friends may call at the Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N. Shipley St, Seaford, from 12 to 1.
