Michael Larry Rose, 75, of Seaford, passed away on September 24.  Visitation will be held from 12-1 and services at 1PM, both at Cranston Funeral Home in Seaford.  A reception will be held after the services at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in Seaford.

Michael was born in Roanoke, Virginia, on April 7, 1942, to Odessa and Leslie Rose.  As a child, he was very involved in the Boy Scouts of America, attaining the rank of Eagle Scout in his teens.  He received his bachelors degree in chemistry from Roanoke College, Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from The Ohio State University, and remained a lifelong Buckeyes fan.  He worked for DuPont for more than 20 years, before taking an early retirement to obtain his masters degree in social work from Delaware State University.  Michael was a talented gardener and had an extensive collection of orchids and bonsai trees.  He loved to travel, especially to visit his grandchildren and be surrounded by his entire family.  Michael was an avid bridge player but enjoyed all types of games.

Michael is predeceased by his first wife, Mary Rose.  He is survived by his wife Linda Rose, children Julie Rose and Devin Jumper, Nathan Rose and Steven Holmes, Matthew and Sarah Rose, Glenn and Amy Stover, grandchildren Arianna and Josalyn Rose, Greyson Stover, and brother Reginald Rose.

 In lieu of flowers, Michael's family has requested donations to Compassionate Care Hospice of Delaware and the Michael J Fox Foundation. The family also extends their sincere thanks to the staff of Lofland Park Center for their many acts of loving kindness.
