Harold Sidney Snyder, Jr. (Bud) died August 30, 2019 at age 89. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota he joined the Navy after high school. A “terrible student” he excelled in the Navy, working his way up through the ranks, retiring, after 24 years, as a Lieutenant. His license plate said US NAVY showing the pride he had servicing his country. Bud’s first duty station was Chincoteague, Va. where he met his wife of 66 years, Betty Jane Whaley of Laurel. Betty died this past March. He is survived by three children, Vicki Strohmaier, Elizabeth Tanner, and Ed Uthman. Three grandchildren, Daniel, William and Scott Rosenblum and three great grandchildren, Reed, Jack and Mila Rosenblum. After retirement he owned a custom picture framing business using his creative talents to display his clients treasured works of art till age 87. A military burial at sea will take place as he requested. There will be no local services. The family would like to thank Delaware Hospice for their care and a very special thank you to his home caregivers, Carol Richardson and Sharon Mears.
