CAROL C REMENTER

June 30, 1941 ~ September 7, 2017 (age 76) 76 Years Old

"Carol Rementer, 76, of Georgetown Delaware passed away Thursday, September 7 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, surrounded by loving family. The oldest of 8 children, Carol was born June 30, 1941 in Akron, Ohio. After attending Villa Maria boarding school, she graduated from Stow High School in 1959, and studied at Akron University in Ohio. On a trip to the beach with her daughter, Becky, Carol’s car broke down and thus began her great love with Jimmy Rementer, her car mechanic and knight in shining armor. They were married September 12, 1973 and spent many happy years taking trips to the beach and fishing. After volunteering at the American Red Cross office in Georgetown, Delaware, she went to work at Farmers Bank and served her customers at various locations in Sussex and Kent counties. Through name changes to Girard, Melon and Citizens Banks, she was always happy to help people with financial concerns and loved helping people realize dreams of becoming homeowners. In retirement, Carol most loved being with family. She kept the farm house warm and welcoming, and all her family saw it as the best place and person to be with to calm your soul. Carol is survived by her daughter, Becky King, and grandsons Brian, Joshua, and Jeremiah; her sisters Beth Zedney and Joan Weiser; brothers Harry Cummings and Chris Cummings; and several dozen nieces, nephews, and cousins, who enjoyed her hospitality and warm company. Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Roland James Rementer Jr., her parents, Fred and Nell Cummings, her Aunt Mary Costello, and her sisters, Catherine Cummings, Maryellen Armbruster, and Rosemary Figgs.
