Mary led a life of service to others in many areas of her life. Mary was an active member of Saint Mary Episcopal church in Bridgeville, serving on the vestry and leading the ECW(Episcopal Church Women) in various roles for many years.  Mary was also recognized by the state level ECW for her distinguished service.  Mary was also active in the Seaford republican women’s club and served in variety of leadership roles including president. Mary spent 4 years in the care of Harrison Senior Living in Georgetown and there she led the resident’s council as a spokesperson for the residents.

Mary worked at Dupont in her early years, then as she raised her sons she worked part time as a care giver at the Country Rest Home, a rural mail carrier, a driver for LabCorp but her favorite job was delivering flowers for Johns Four Season of Seaford.  Mary loved flowers and loved to bring a smile to a person when she made a delivery.

Mary was famous for her fried chicken, yeast braids and chocolate chip cookies, her prolific vegetable and flower garden.  Mary was loved by everyone who was able to spend time with her and had an endless list of friends.  Mary enjoyed spending time with her friends, family and especially her grandchildren and nieces and nephews, grand nieces, and nephews. Mary gave selflessly to anyone in need and always thought of others before herself.

Rhett, Ben, and the family would like to thank all those who cared for Mom over the past 4 years at Harrison Senior Living, especially Denise Williams who showed compassionate love and care! As well as all of the friends and family who visited often.
